Easel Card

For April I challenged our card swap group over at Cuttlebug-Itis Swap group to make an Easel Card. I must say the members really make cute and gorgeous cards.

Here is my card for the swap:

I used the following items to make the card:

Spellbinders for blue frames

Cricut Imagine Elise cartridge for floral paper in background behind blue frames.

Cricut Southwest cartrdige for Vase. Slightly bent vase on sides to make it rounder to accomodate the flowers and attached with SU Dimensionals.

Spellbinders Poppy Patch for the flowers. (I outlined the vase lightly with a pencil, attached adhesive inside the lines and stuck the flowers down).

SU White paper - where greeting or message can be written

core'dinations blue cardstock for base of card

WeRMemoryKeepers Washi Tape  in Yellow

Blue metal flowers that are brads. I snapped the bottoms off and attached with rolled glue dots.

That's it for the card! Simple and fast.

Baby Shower

Recently I received a box of photos that my grandmother had stashed away, before she passed away. I found photos of my cousin Catherine's baby shower.

I found a layout that I cased from Melinda at http://www.mypapercrafting.com/.  It is listed under her 1 page layouts and it was just so darn cute that I had to make it.

My cousin picked Noah's Ark as the theme for the baby's room so I'm having a blast cutting & making animals from the Animal Kingdom cart, to put on the rest of the pages. I used the following Cricut carts:

Cricut Imagine cart Elise for the background paper
Christmas - Teddy Bear cut out at 5.01"
Nursery Rhyme - Letters cut at 1.12"
Disney Pooh & Friends- Umbrella cut at 2.53"
Tags, Bags, Boxes & More - Flower cut at 1.12"
Square Punches used are 1 1/8" & 1 1/4"
Spellbinders Fancy Frame for under the mat photo
Crystal Flowers sent to me by a friend - on mat and photo

I'm just having to much fun and that's a good thing right?! It's a great way to spend time when it's way to cold to be outside. Right now it's -4 degrees, brrr.

Happy Crafting!

5 Star Card

Recently I re-discovered a wonderful lady who is responsible for my interest in scrapbooking and cardmaking. I discovered DIY Scrapbooking 8 years ago with Sandi Genovese while I was at home recovering from heart surgery. I started watching her every day and I couldn't get enough of what I was seeing. Once I started getting my strength back, I started scrapbooking. What a wonderful hobby! So after the show was discontinued, it was like an old friend who had moved away and never to be heard from again. Well, I don't know what made me Google her name recently but to my surprise, she has an online show called Scrapbook Showgram - Scrapbooking with Sandi Genovese at you can find her at : http://scrapbookshowgram.com/. She has videos of her projects and you can follow along. I'm loving it. So having said all this, here is my take on Sandy's 5 Star Birthday card. I changed it up and will be giving it to a friend who also has her own scrapbooking club at her house which I try to attend 4 times a month. We have an 18 hour scrapbooking weekend coming up in October and it's just a little something to give her for being such a wonderful hostess. Here are the photos of my card. I tried to use CM as much as possible since she is a CM rep and I used mostly the CM Cricut carts along with Storybook Creator 4 to print background papers. Hope she likes what I've done!

Spring - CM Storybook Creator 4 background paper and CM border.

Christmas - CM 'Tis The Season cart
Hope you enjoyed the photos and have a wonderful weekend.

I WON BLOG CANDY !

I have ready so many blogs over the past year and have entered so many comments in hopes of winning blog candy. There are so many talented people in the crafting world! Recently I had the pleasure of visiting Cindy McVey's blog at crazy4crafting.blogspot.com. She is a Cricut designer and Stampin Up! demonstrator. Seeing some of the papers and creations she has on her blog really is an inspiration.

I was lucky enough to post a comment on her blog and she recently notified me that I won a limited edition Cricut cartridge called Mother's Day 2010! Here's what it looks like in the package:

Woohoo, I'm so excited and can't wait to receive my new cartridge. What a wonderful surprise! Thank you Cindy for offering the chance to win this!

Happy crafting to everyone!
